In French, plique à jour translates to "letting in daylight." Once I saw out the design from a thick sheet of fine silver, I fill the open cells with transparent powdered glass (enamel) then fire the piece in the kiln. This creates a beautiful stained glass effect. These earrings glow with the sunlight creating a unique piece of wearable art. This piece was made in my studio in Redwood City, California.
The earrings dangle from sterling silver ear wires- I never use nickel or plated metals. I include a pro polishing pad so that you can keep all of your silver jewelry tarnish-free and bright!
