Parisian Summer

Parisian Summer

“Paris is not a city; it’s a world.”

Easily one of the most beautiful cities in the world, this is a place to go when you need some inspiration. Everywhere you look is full of history, beautiful details,  and friendly people. In 2016, I went to Paris for 3 weeks to take a language immersion program. The French language school was directly across from Notre Dame, making my daily commute an absolute dream.

While I was there, I drank cafe au lait, ate fresh cherries from the fruit stand across the street from my little apartment, and picked up a croissant or macaron from Paul (a French bakery and café). I did quite a bit exploring like going to the Catacombs and seeing all the MILLIONS of skulls. A bit creepy, but just incredible to see all the skulls as you walk through the tunnels. Going to the Eiffel Tower of course, but since I was there for Bastille Day on July 14th, there were fireworks coming out of the Eiffel Tower that I’ll never forget!

The neighborhoods (called arrondissements) are all so unique and special. They have their own charm and reasons for taking a visit. There are 20 arrondissements in total. The Montmarte district in the 18th arrondissement is one of my favorite areas since it is so old and the area looks like *quintessential* Paris. This is where you’ll find La Maison Rose! The delightful little pink and green cafe was the inspiration behind this new color palette! She’s located near the beautiful Sacre Coeur, which I wouldn’t recommend climbing to the top of this Cathedral in the summer unless you’re looking for a good sweat! Montmatre is a charming little area of Paris that you absolutely cannot miss.

When I travel, I always feel like the absolute best version of myself. I’m so open to every experience, I’m brimming to the top with joy and excitement everyday, I want to be friends with everyone and live completely in the moment. When I return home from a trip, this inspiration and feeling lasts a while, making the trip feel life changing and eye opening. It seems like as soon as I get home from somewhere, I’m ready to start planning my next adventure- usually somewhere COMPLETELY different!

Paris did that to me. After the three weeks I spent in the magical old city, I felt like a new person and my energy was so much lighter and brighter. When I look at the pastel green and pink of this Paris collection, I feel that same joyful spirit and hope that it inspires you to live your life with just as much joie de vivre!
